Who is to say if you are being maliciously obtuse or strategically ignorant. Some people perpetually live in a constant state of surprise that facts exist. But I am not convinced that is always the case when someone says:

• ​I had no idea?
• Tell me about it, it's crazy?
• I don't like it anymore than you do?

Of course! That custom makes total sense in the country you come from.  I'm just saying that in America:

• respected family members have an ethical obligation to the next generation
• ​incorrigible family members give away their children's future to old people
• ...

Are these really helpful favors or intentional malpractice?

• Charitable man absolutely insists on "helping" ...in a ways that benefits himself and inflicts misery on the recipient of his help.
• Area woman engineers a system that consumes maximum resources and delivers mediocre results.
• ...
